This position's purpose is to observe, detect, deter, and report security-related incidents that pose potential risks and threats to company assets. The CGS Lead Security Officer coordinates the daily security operation responsibilities and provides alarm monitoring, emergency response support, incident notifications, physical patrols, and other security-related services. Provides local oversight of contract security services.
Key Responsibilities Professionally represent Corning and the Global Security Division by performing duties including, but not limited to: Mentor security team members by sharing knowledge and experience while creating a positive team environment Facilitate team involvement and the coordination of tasks among team members Lead and support alarm reduction and response efforts Collect and disseminate daily security metrics Coordinate new hire security officer post specific training and provide annual refresh training for security officers Acts as a security point of contact and develops substantive relationships with facility leadership and other functional groups Attend facility meetings when appropriate Support emergency response situations including fire, medical, and hazardous material incidents
Short Description Provide local site physical security through means of patrols, access control, and monitoring Provide a wide range of customer service-related tasks Provide documentation and notification of daily activity and incidents and review officer generated incident reports for accuracy and completeness Providing as-needed support for various security operations Coordinate with local contract security supervisor to ensure appropriate skilled staffing, staffing levels are maintained, and security policy and procedures are being followed Assist Corning Security Supervisor or Regional Security Manager to ensure vendor compliance with staff management Track and document security vendor hours and open posts Maintain CPR/ AED/ First Aid Certifications and administer appropriate care that is consistent with training Prepare and present regular site updates to Security Supervisors/Managers Attend monthly supervisory training Experiences/Education - Required
A.S. Degree required, or High School Diploma/GED and minimum of one year experience in leadership role Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in previous Security role Previous security experience Aptitude for clear and effective writing under time-sensitive conditions Ability to multitask and work independently Sound operational judgment and decision making Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality and integrity Must have good technical skills, experience with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to navigate other platforms Proficiency with security operations including technological systems, such as access control systems, CCTV, incident reporting system, visitor management and life safety systems Comfortable learning and adapting to new operational tools and processes Cultural sensitivity Valid driver’s license Ability to obtain and/or maintain a valid security guard license where applicable Desired and Soft Skills Technology oriented Comfortable making presentations before small/medium/large audiences Ability to lead by example, coach others and provide constructive feedback Strong customer service skills Strong team player with a professional interpersonal style Strong telephone and face-to-face verbal communication skills Planning & Organization Process / Project Management Leadership Integrity Judgment / Decision Making skills Problem analysis / Problem solving Interpersonal skills Initiative Adaptability / Flexibility

The range for this position is $50,527.00 - $69,475.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
