Atlanta United Security Manager
The Atlanta United Security Manager reports directly to the Atlanta United Security Director, and is responsible for assisting in managing overall, day-to-day security for Atlanta United Football club and its training facility. This position is also responsible for assisting with match day team security at home and away stadiums. The Atlanta United Security Manager is responsible for assisting in the management of security at high-profile, scheduled events attended by players, coaches, and staff. The Security Manager will work with team executives and associates daily to ensure a security minded atmosphere is maintained always.
Responsibilities:
• Follow all Security policies, procedures and protocols
• Support and ensure safety for Atlanta United FC, MLS Next Pro and Academy
• Ensure the safety of all assigned players, coaches, and staff
• On call 24/7 for any emergencies • Conducts frequent inside and outside roving patrols, logging any suspicious activity
• Regularly monitors security cameras for suspicious activity
• Maintains access control systems at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Facility
• Create badges and access pins for all employees based out of the Training Grounds.
• Ensure a security presence is established at team training facility
• Completes detailed reports by recording observations, information, and occurrences
• Investigate and write reports on all unusual incidents occurring on property (this does not include player investigations)
• Identify and challenge all suspicious/unknown person(s) found on property
• Responsible scheduling/briefing/placement/ direction for security and law enforcement at the training facility
• Conduct semi-annual fire drills at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta training facility
• Communicates regularly with the Atlanta United Security Director
• Coordinate with team logistics personnel
• Prepare team security operations plan for all home matches
• Coordinate with stadium security personnel regarding team arrival, match, and departure security
• Coordinate with MLS security representative for matches
• Coordinate with bomb detection and K-9 search team as necessary
• Manages relationship with match day security staff and law enforcement
• Lead and direct all contract security and off-duty law enforcement at the facility and during travel
• Maintains relationships with airport security/law enforcement
• Continuously monitor all player and coach areas, including hotel floors, meeting spaces, meal room, training room, and parking areas (team hotel)
• Maintain a security presence in the hotel lobby, bus areas, stadium bus areas, and all locker room areas
• Create a secure environment during home and away trainings
• Monitor the team sideline and bench area for safety and security concerns for all matches
• Ensure all players are accounted for after the match including a safe passage to team departures areas • Direct players to buses, family area, and post-match meals
• Ability to take direction from team officials in the best interest of the organization
• Create and present monthly security reports
• Oversee all internal and external events that take place at the training ground
• Oversee ATLUTD Access list for all vendors and guests
• Print MBS badges for Atlanta United FC associates
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in area of study, preferably security management or criminal justice, experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 3-5 years’ experience with a corporation and/or law enforcement, military, intelligence, or private security organization including supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), CCTV and access control systems.
• Working knowledge of criminal and civil codes dealing with public and private sector security policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of sport event or major event safety and security planning accompanied by best practices.
• The ability to travel. • Strong management and training ability.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience and/or training in the field.
• Proof of and maintain a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance as a primary driver, valid passport, as well as a reliable means of transportation to carry out essential job functions, in accordance with company policy and procedures. • Must pass a criminal background check in accordance with company policy and periodically checked thereafter.
• Must be willing and able to work evening and weekends.
• Experience with emergency operations and action plans up to including Threat & Hazard identification and assessment planning.
• Must be available/on call 24 hours. Required Working Conditions:
• General office environment with little discomfort from noise, temperature and weather exposure.
• Exterior walking conditions expose to all weather elements, noise to include matchday, airport noise.
• Can be exposed to potentially hostile environments, confrontations and or dangerous situations.
• Must be available to travel as needed and on short notice.
