JOB SUMMARY (overview of job) This position provides support of leadership, direction and support for Security Services in the pursuit for best practice to achieve quality outcomes, shape and interpret the standards required to ensure a high degree of patient, physician and employee safety and satisfaction. The Security Officer serves as the expert resource on security matters related to St. Peters’ venues and policies as well as enforcement actions in compliance with the state of Montana and citizens’ constitutional rights. Security Officer ensures a high level of awareness and a proactive approach to the resolution of security related matters while maintaining a safe and secure environmental awareness. The security officer will maintain current licensing and update procedural changes to St. Peters’ policies as well as state and federal guidelines.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Experienced professional with knowledge of Healthcare Security processes, healthcare specific preferable. Law enforcement experience preferred.
EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent GED.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/additional qualifications: State of Montana security license at time of position appointment or agreed upon exception. (delays in state processing)
Monitors the Security program. Provides advice, counsel, feedback and coordination to promote a collegiality between staff, physicians and colleagues. Ensures Security services across the continuum leads to outcomes supportive of the organization’s Environment of Care (EOC) plan. Designs and implements processes to ensure appropriate security in accordance with regulatory standards. This position also participates in the development of Security goals and objectives in accordance with EOC standards. Assesses customer and patient satisfaction in areas of responsibility; sets a high standard for staff and leadership to improve patient satisfaction. Maintains a uniform standard of professional appearance and fitness levels set by the security director's requirements.
