Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for the security of the University, its property and may be scheduled to work on various shifts, holidays, and weekends. The primary hours for this position are Thursday-Monday 11:30pm-8:00am (Tuesday/Wednesday off). The position reports to the Shift Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide customer service and security for the Midwestern University campus Direct and escort guests, as well as assist with patients. When necessary, assist with special events at Midwestern University Respond to any/all emergency/disaster situations and document necessary information Provide security for property, both existing and under construction Parking regulation enforcement. Conduct effective security patrols on foot and by vehicle to maintain the security of the campus and all buildings, identifying hazardous conditions, taking corrective measures to reduce and eliminate inappropriate behavior and contacting Glendale Police Department as needed. Provide Motorist Assists Complete reports and other documentation Respond to calls for service. Provide building security locking and unlocking facilities Conduct Investigations Monitor alarm and camera systems. Other duties may be assignedQualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 1-2 year’s relevant work experience required. Must have a current Arizona driver’s license. Police or security experience is preferred. Must have the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Computer Skills
Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

CLERY Act Responsibilities
Midwestern University Safety and Security Officers will complete training related to the Jeanne Clery Act, possessing an understanding of the Cleary Act itself and their role as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSA’s by virtue of their university responsibilities and under the Clery Act, are designated to receive and report Clery Crimes to the Department of Safety and Security so that they may be included and published in the university's Annual Security Report.
