Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $22.00 to $24.40+, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

Job Summary:
The Mountain Security officer will oversee the safety and security of employees and guests by monitoring, responding to, and investigating resort complaints, operational incidents, fire, and various emergencies within the Village at Copper. The role will require the security officer to communicate regularly with employees and guests as well as outside law enforcement and fire personnel when appropriate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Patrol Copper Mountain Property and its grounds daily/nightly on a frequent basis to ensure all areas are secure and free of unauthorized persons and to detect and report unsafe conditions.
Respond to any law enforcement/fire/medical incident that occurs within the Village. Act through ICS in any emergency situation that arises.
Be vigilant in loss prevention by monitoring the area and documenting any needed actions.
Be available on Copper Mountain Resort radio and cell phone during scheduled hours.
Investigate and document vandalism or theft of Village, and Copper Mountain property and report to the Sheriff’s Department/Risk and Safety for insurance. Must be able to operate a computer-based RMS that tracks all statistics and hot areas across the resort.
Support and assist the operations around the base of the mountain and within the Edge employee housing. Summer operations spread to on hill with access road availability.
Respond to employee and guest calls around the mountain.
Review CCTV footage for the Villages, EDGE/Sky Chutes Landing housing, and Mountain while investigating incidents.
All other job-related duties as assigned by department leadership.
Respond as primary triage for all base area medicals. CPR/BLS/Crowd Management Certification available through the company after training is completed.
Must have a professional character as the department utilizes body cameras during incidents.
Administration Duties:
Complete a detailed nightly report at the end of each shift which is forwarded to CM officers, Risk Manager, Lodging Services Manager, Employee Experience Director, and EDGE Manager among others daily.
Accurately articulate incidents that occur within the Village or on the base of the mountain and document an incident report for the Sheriff’s Department.
Guest Service Duties:
Assist and support the EDGE Housing Team with group lodging and resident check-in/departure processes, lock-outs, etc.
Other Duties as Assigned:
Assist other Copper Mountain departments including but not limited to Front Desk, Housekeeping, Houseman, Bellman, Property Management, Banquets and Maintenance.

Basic Requirements:
Must be able to speak English fluently and communicate clearly.
Must have a driver's license with clean record.
Must possess strong communication skills and ability to physically/mentally react quickly and rationally in emergency situations.
Strong de-escalation skill set.
Must be able to lift 125 pounds and carry for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Comfortably navigate a security round per hour. Rounds can range from: Distance of 1/8th of a mile to 1+ mile(s). Hourly round times can range from 15 minutes to 50 minutes of physical patrol time around to protect various properties.
Navigating environments includes:
Inside buildings
Outside in the elements and inclement weather conditions
Surfaces and environmental terrain can vary from (but not limited to);
Carpet tile, wood, concrete, asphalt, grass, curbs, uneven gravel and dirt;
Surfaces can be slippery with, water, ice, or snow in inclement weather.
Maneuver safely up and down flights of stairs multiple times a round or shift. Stairs can be inside or outside. Also to navigate up / down hilly terrain, over curbs and other obstacles
Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a criminal background check will be conducted after position is accepted. This background check will be done in accordance with standards enacted under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
This position may require the use of a motor vehicle and the employee is subject to comply with the Driver’s Standards of Copper Mountain.
Preferred Experience and Special Skills:
High school education or equivalent.
Previous Security, Fire, or Law enforcement experience is strongly preferred.
Experience in law enforcement situations, CPR/First Aid is preferred but not required.
