Our Asset Protection Officers maintain a visible presence within our stores, often at the front of the store. This position includes both foot and vehicle patrols, as well as monitoring safety on Wegmans property. In this role you will be trained in conflict resolution and proper handling of medical emergency situations. Our officers are entrusted with finding the resources needed to address all safety and security concerns.

What will I do?

Maintain a highly visible profile including standing at the front door, and surveying the store and outside parking areasConduct employee and customer escorts as requestedIntervene and diffuse customer conflicts effectivelyInspect perimeter doors, windows and gates to maintain high levels of store securityVisibly observe customers and employees in an effort to deter undesirable activity in and around the store

Required Qualifications:

Police Officer/Deputy/Trooper experience working road patrol and/or United States Military Law Enforcement or Special Operations experienceAbility to participate in and complete any required specialized trainingStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain effective communication and composure in stressful situationsProven ability to effectively manage conflictAble to problem solve, anticipating, analyzing, and identifying opportunities, responding quickly when situations arise and preventing problems when possibleTechnical aptitude and PC skills with Windows applications; must be able to navigate through multiple programs and screens efficientlyValid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

Associates Degree in Criminal JusticeCertified EMTCertified in AED, CPR, and FAC
