Security Officer
Job Description OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION
Provide security and emergency response services throughout the resort, ensuring that performance is within the guidelines of written procedures and resort philosophy. Enforce security and safety guidelines to safeguard resort and guest property. Investigate and document incidents of concern and properly respond to resolve issues of concern. Patrol resort buildings, grounds and other areas on the resort as assigned, noting unusual circumstances, persons, and /or safety violations. Assist with security at hotel related functions, escort non-authorized persons off property. Provide entry / exit gate screening as related to security. RESPONSIBILITIES Always greet and welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner. Respond rapidly to all emergencies and manage crisis situations in an efficient and professional manner. Exhibit a calming demeanor and manage emergency situations. Provide 1st aid and CPR / AED as needed Conduct foot and mobile patrols within the resort and monitor entry and exit gates. Initiate investigations through short- and long-term observation, review of documentation, interviews Accurately document incidents, inquiries and investigations. Answer phone, monitor security cameras and dispatch security officer accordingly. Enforce security and safety guidelines to safeguard resort and guest property. Coordinate and supervise special assignments. Conduct administrative duties such as issuing keys, vehicle parking decals, lockers, paychecks, etc. Conduct vehicle, locker and parcel searches relating to security and safety as directed. Escort individuals off property. Provide physical security at resort related functions. Perform other related duties as assigned or required.  GENERAL SKILLS Must be willing and able to work all shifts including weekends and holidays as determined Safety and Security Team Leaders Must be able to work in excess of 40 hours per week as needed Must be available to be recalled or held over for weather related emergencies (Tsunami, Hurricane, and Earthquake. Etc.)   Equipment Use Ability to use the telephone and radio. Ability to use various office equipment such as telephone, network camera system, fire panel, etc. Ability to use Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Ability to operate a utility vehicle or cart.
Mental and Physical Demands Ability to remain calm in emergency situations. Able to manage stressful and challenging situations. Able to stand, walk, bend and reach during most shifts. Lift and carry up to 25-50lbs under normal conditions.  Communication Demands Must have the ability to communicate verbally with guests and employees   Interviewing skills: (who, what, where, when, why) and transcribe accurately to formulate reports and investigations. Ability to communicate over the phone or radio.  Working Conditions Outdoors in various whether conditions patrolling resort. Indoors in an office environment. In a booth at the entry gate. (That may be affected by various weather conditions). Travel throughout the resort
 QUALIFICATIONS Current Hawaii State Guard Card. CPR/1st Aid certified / AED Certification Valid Driver’s LicenseSalary: $29.87/hour
