Job Summary
Security officers are responsible for maintaining the overall security of a property. Security officers use
many different tactics to prevent theft, vandalism, and damage to properties. They may patrol the
property in a vehicle and may maintain records of who enters or leaves the property, either at a front
desk or a front gate. They may keep track of signing visitors in and out and monitor incoming deliveries.
Security officers generally assist with providing guests with information and directions. Employees
protect the property and its inhabitants from fire risks and other safety violations. They respond to
emergency situations by communicating with emergency personnel and potentially handling physical
threats by restraining offenders. They may also maintain parking regulations and ensure parking lot
security. It is important for a security officer to be aware and alert at all times, constantly being aware of
risks and concerns.
Duties include but are not limited to:
equipment.\nGreet incoming guests and tenants, providing information regarding the site and surrounding
area as requested by visitors.\nGuard and monitor premises to prevent theft, property destruction, violence or rules and safety
violations.\nPerform fire prevention, safety and maintenance tasks and parking/traffic enforcement.\nOther duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills
\n\nKnowledge of State or local governmental safety requirements.\nKnowledge of conflict resolution techniques at a proficient level.\nProfessional customer service skills.\nSelf-motivated, proactive, detail oriented and a team player.\nInterpretation and completion of verbal and/or written instructions at a proficient level.\nTime management and time critical prioritization skills.\n\nEducation and Experience
\n\nHigh School Diploma or GED Required\n0 – 3 years of directly related or closely related experience\nCertifications or Licenses: Location Specific License\n\nWorking Conditions
\n\nNon-Typical office environment (frequent standing, walking, talking, etc.), both inside activitiesand outside activities.\n\n
