Overview Perform protective, preventative, safety and security related enforcement functions while touring hotel complex to ensure the safety and well-being of all hotel guests, associates and vendors. Implements and monitors all related SOP's, Mission Vision and Values in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances and threats. Responsibilities Essential Functions + Will monitor traffic in and out of the employee entrance and loading Ensure that all Vendors are signing in/out and are accompanied to the correct location within the resort. + Spend the majority of shifts on foot patrol, walking, climbing stairs of the interior and outdoor perimeter of the hotel to observe and identify potential safety and security risks or undesirable conditions. Requires verbal communication using two-way radio, and cell phone. + Have flexibility in working various shifts including weekends. + Complete Daily Activity Reports in real time using the App provided during each shift. + Prepare inspection reports in a timely manner. + Complete all shift logs and incident reports. + Will provide a safe environment while providing a positive guest experience. + Coordinate expedient response to emergency conditions such as a fire, fire or safety hazards and threats to life and/or property in a calm, rational and persuasive manner. + Watch for suspicious persons entering, exiting, or loitering around Conduct walk through observations of entire hotel. Promote safe work practices. + Answer security telephone, cell phone, and safety hotline calls and respond in a timely manner based on priority. + Memorize and monitor life safety system installed at property including layout of entire building, alarm pull stations, location of fire extinguishers and sprinklers. + Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis as needed. + Perform any other job related duties as needed and/or assigned. Qualifications Qualifications + Maintain a neat professional appearance and manner at all times. + Good Can communicate well with guests in a clear and concise speaking voice. + Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. + Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift with or without reasonable accommodation. + Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations with or without reasonable accommodation. + Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on the property with or without reasonable accommodation. + Effective verbal and written communication Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc. while listening effectively to ascertain and document important information. Requirements + High School Diploma (or GED) + Loss Prevention or Security experience required, prior law enforcement or other military experience preferred. + Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License. + Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Security Guard License. + Must possess and maintain 8-hour & 16-hour annual certificates. + First-Aid, CPR and AED certification required or obtained within first three (3) months of employment. + Fireguard certification preferred. + Basic Computer Knowledge. + Bi-lingual a plus!
