In this role, you will have the opportunity to - + Patrol UPMC hospitals, buildings, grounds, and adjacent areas to establish a visible security presence and deter criminal activity. + Monitor ingress and egress to secured areas by staffing fixed posts and ensuring compliance with access protocols. + Provide customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff by addressing safety concerns and maintaining a secure environment. + Inspect incoming and outgoing parcels to prevent theft and ensure proper handling of sensitive materials. + Respond to emergencies, disputes, and unusual circumstances, resolving issues effectively and involving law enforcement when necessary. + Maintain required certifications and licensing to remain compliant with regulatory standards and department policies. + Assist with traffic control, vehicle assistance, and patient escorts to ensure smooth and safe operations throughout UPMC properties. + Document incidents, suspicious activities, and hazards accurately in reports, maintaining detailed records for future reference. Preferred + High School diploma or equivalent **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** + Act 235 with Firearms OR Act 235 without Firearms - All officers hired without a valid Act 235 must complete the 235 certification within their first 6 months of hire or placement and have process completed within 9 months of hire. + Must meet audio and visual standards outlined in Act 235 at time of hire. + Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation certification required within 30 days of hire. + Valid Driver's License. + Successfully pass UPMC Physical Fitness Standard prior to hire.
