The schedule follows a rotating pattern, with every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. Responsibilities:

Staff fixed posts to monitor ingress and egress to secured areas, ensuring only authorized individuals access restricted zones. Provide customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff, maintaining a safe and secure environment through effective communication. Inspect incoming and outgoing parcels to prevent theft and ensure no unauthorized items enter or leave the premises. Respond to and resolve problems, disputes, and unusual circumstances quickly to minimize disruptions and maintain safety. Maintain required certifications and licensing, ensuring compliance with all security-related regulations and standards. Assist with traffic control and vehicle assists, ensuring smooth operations around the facility and responding to emergencies when needed. Transport deceased individuals to the morgue or release bodies from the morgue in accordance with hospital procedures and policies. Monitor security, fire, and environmental alarms, responding promptly to alarms and assisting with resolution as necessary. Establish a visible security presence by patrolling UPMC hospitals, buildings, grounds, and associated areas to deter criminal activity and document incidents. Operate UPMC vehicles in accordance with the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, ensuring safe transportation during security operations. Conduct patient escorts and stand-by details, ensuring patient safety and facilitating the smooth flow of hospital operations. Complete all mandatory training programs per departmental guidelines, staying updated on security protocols and procedures. Report and document incidents, suspicious activities, and hazards to ensure accurate records and prompt corrective action.
