Security Officer
Overview Fairview is looking for a Security Officer to join our team at our Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. Job Summary: Ensures a safe & secure environment for all M Health Fairview employees, patients, guests, stakeholders, and communities through proactive leadership, agility, and a holistic organizational approach. Provides for the safety and security of patients, visitors, staff and property by responding to needs of hospital patients, visitors and staff, helping and providing excellent customer service standards. Proactively works to prevent theft and vandalism. May be involved in high-risk situations with exposure to potentially dangerous situations which requires range of safety precautions. Schedule: 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) day/evening shift every other weekend About the location: Fairview Southdale Hospital offers care to people living and working in the southwest Twin Cities metro area. At M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital, patients and families have access to some of the area's most advanced heart services at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital. These include a nationally recognized emergency heart attack program, state-of-the-art imaging services, a women's heart program, and our CORE program for heart failure and vascular disease management. University of Minnesota Health Heart Care cardiologists and specialists see patients seven days a week at the 6405 France Ave. S building at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital. As part of M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital's Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center, telestroke technology is offered for patients being evaluated for a stroke. This technology allows stroke specialists to evaluate the patient and plan treatment even when the doctors are miles away. With telestroke technology, it enables neurologists to coordinate with the on-site care team and examine patients in real time via video conferencing and review the results of brain-imaging tests conducted in a patient's local emergency department. Doctors have the ability to manipulate the camera position remotely- which helps when examining patients and diagnosing stroke symptoms- and can review the results of brain-imaging tests conducted in the local emergency department. Preferred Experience Hospital Security Experience License/Certification/Registration Certified Peace Officer (POST) Emergency Med Tech Basic (EMT-B) Additional Requirements (must be obtained or completed within a period of time): Pass pre-assignment training within probationary period.
