Security Officer

Receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead Security Officer, performs a variety of security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.  Enforces PH&S, facility and security policies and regulations.  Investigate reports of potential criminal conduct against PH&S staff, visitors, staff, and property; respond and assist in restraining patients; detain individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer; and provide protective services to high risk areas.

Required Qualifications:

upon hire: Oregon Private Security Armed/Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training. Or  upon hire: Oregon Private Security Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training. upon hire: Valid Driver's License. upon hire: Private Security Temporary Work Permit PS-20. 1 year Experience using personal computer with standard Microsoft applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Coursework/Training College level coursework in professionally related fields such as criminal justice, social work, psychology or any social science. H.S. Diploma or GED.  1 year Security/law enforcement experience such as corrections, police, reserve and military police. Direct patient care experience in a healthcare industry.
