Climax Molybdenum is the world’s leading producer of molybdenum and has a long, successful history of doing business safely, efficiently and responsibly. We have operated in Colorado for more than 100 years, with mining and milling operations near Leadville, Kremmling and Empire. Our Climax Mine is located between Frisco and Leadville – the seat of Lake County and the highest incorporated city in the United States.

Description Under close supervision, performs a variety of patrol, security, and emergency response and customer service duties at assigned location. Greets and logs in all visitors and vendors at entrance gateNotifies appropriate personnel or department of arrivalDirects visitors and vendors to destinationEnforces company policies and procedures    Performs frequent patrols of the propertyWalks or drives vehicle on irregularly scheduled rounds of propertyObserves conditions of equipment, grounds and facilitiesReports damages or areas in need of repair to security supervisor or safety person on callConducts surveillance of locations or areas in which vandalism or criminal activities have been notedAssists with and trained for emergency situationsCollaborates with police officers in the prevention of crimeWorks with fire response units for fire suppression, and with medical emergency response units in the event of emergency situations, at the assigned locationProvides basic life support, and if qualified, advanced life support and/or paramedic services to patients including CPR and monitoring of vital signs, when neededCommunicates with hospitals to provide emergency careControls transfer of patients to medical facilitiesWrites incident reports for calls attended and maintains appropriate logsMay provide instruction to general public on First Aid or CPRPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Current certification as an EMT is requiredSkilled in responding appropriately to emergency and conflict situationsKnowledge of site rules, regulations, policies and procedures and knowledgeable of the site topography and locations of emergency equipment and access pointsAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingProficiency in the operation of a personal computer to include Microsoft applications

What We Offer You 

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $17.50 - $23.50/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process. What We Require
