Responsibilities
The Lead Security Officer performs security officer operational duties, and is also expected to perform administrative duties associated with the shift. Coordinates the work of the Security Officers in the absence of the supervisor, and oversees work activity during the shift. The Lead Security Officer also serves as the primary site contact for law enforcement agencies when senior security leadership is not on site. It is expected that the Lead Security Officer will demonstrate behavior consistent with CommonSpirit Health core value and human kindness. The Lead Security Officer shall support CommonSpirit Health’s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities.
Performs all Security Officer duties, and oversees the Security Officers assigned to the shift, organizing and directing their work. Assists with training of staff. Ensures that all Security Officers assigned to the shift meet all standards, including uniform and grooming standards.
Ensures that security procedures and directives are followed and compliance with applicable codes and regulations are followed.
Support the overall security effort through adjusted schedule, location of work or on-call activities. Other duties as assigned by security leadership.
Ensures all required shift paperwork is complete and that security activities/incidents are appropriately communicated up-channeled in a timely manner.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Experience
Six (6) months experience as security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, prior law enforcement or military service; or one (1) year experience as a security officer.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; or three (3) years’ experience as a security officer
● International Association of Healthcare Security Services (IAHSS) Basic & Advanced courses within 90 days of position appointment.
