Responsibilities
The Lead Security Officer has a dual role within the security program. In addition to their duties and responsibilities as a security officer, they also are assigned administrative duties to ensure program continuity when department leaders are not available. As the Lead Security Officer they are responsible for ensuring that assigned posts are staffed, all security incidents are properly responded to and documented in accordance with department procedures. The Lead Security Officer also serves as the primary site contact for law enforcement agencies when senior Security leadership is not on site. It is expected that the Lead Security Officer will demonstrate behavior consistent with CommonSpirit Health core value and humankindness. The Lead Security Officer shall support CommonSpirit Health’s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; and six (6) months experience as security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, ORPrior law enforcement or military service experience; OROne year experience as a security officerPreferred: (International Association of Healthcare Security Services (IAHSS) Basic & Advanced courses within 90 days of position appointment.)Required Licensure and Certifications
Current TX driver’s license with satisfactory DMV report on file or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire if facility requires the position to operate a motor vehicle.Non Commissioned Security Officer license within 3 months of employment start date.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days of employment. Maintain all other required training/certifications thereafter while employed by CommonSpirit Health.Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training:
Completion of NIMS compliant ICS 100HCb, 200b, & 700a courses to be completed within 90 days of employment.Must be able to speak English, communicate clearly orally, and in writing.Disclosure Summary:
