JOB SUMMARY

The Security Operations Supervisor reports to the Security Superintendent. The Security Operations Supervisor provides managerial oversight and supervision to a group of Security Shift Supervisors at an Entergy nuclear plant. Security Operations Supervisors have ultimate responsibility for their assigned security teams? performance. This position is also responsible for providing safe, effective oversight for the implementation of the Site Security’s NRC-approved Physical Security Plan and implementing procedures, in accordance with 10CFR73.55, and Entergy’s business policies, procedures and standards.
 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensuring that their assigned SSSs are providing direct supervision to their assigned Security Officers and are executing and maintaining all of their assigned supervisory duties; Reviewing Security Shift Supervisors? discipline and personnel records in accordance with EN-HR-135 and EN-HR-138 procedures and Security department files; Administering Entergy’s MARC progressive discipline process for their direct reports (SSS); Performing evaluations of SSSs and provide input for incentive and merit; Identifying, evaluating, and mentoring for succession planning and development of Security Shift Supervisors.
 
Approving Security Shift Supervisors time sheets; Reviewing Security Shift Supervisors’ grievance responses, and discussing grievances with Security Shift Supervisors, including considering the SSSs? recommendations and input with respect to how grievances should be granted, denied, resolved or otherwise adjusted or responded to, for grievances that proceed through later and higher steps; Checking to ensure that Security Shift Supervisors are in compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement(s); Perform Leadership Effectiveness Log coaching, in particular for their direct reports (SSS); Participating in the screening of candidates for employment, and act as a member of the interview panel for Security Shift Supervisor positions.
 
For SOSs responsible for teams that are on a fixed shift (days/nights), the SOS will adjust his schedules accordingly to allow time to be out in the field engaging their team while on shift on a weekly basis; For SOSs responsible for teams on a rotational schedule, the SOS will be out in the field engaging their team on the working days that their team is scheduled; At the Manager/Superintendent discretion, SOSs may be temporarily assigned to work directly with their assigned team to provide direct oversight and address performance deficiencies; Champion Security Team CIP participation and project presentations. Attending weekly Leadership and Alignment meetings to serve as a conduit of site management standards; Acting as department lead and representative at site meetings for the following: Safety, HU, ALARA, Chemical Control, Outage, Projects, SQA.
 
Reviewing teams’ job performance measures, coaching data, qualification review; Performing On-The-Job Training, Job Performance Measures and Task Performance Evaluations in accordance with EN-NS-300, ?Security Training Program?; Verifying Security Shift Supervisors, Security Officers and contract Security Officers are qualified in Plateau and NANTeL to perform their assigned duties at all times; Ensuring there are no conflicts between the Security Operations and Security Training schedules; Performing monthly Security Training observations; Participating in department Security Training Review Group meetings; Ensuring that Security Team physicals and Access Reinvestigations are coordinated, scheduled, communicated and attended by Security personnel.
 
Verifying Security Equipment is tested and declared operable prior to use; Interfacing with the various Station departments and coordinating support activities; Maintaining site maintenance and lay down areas to ensure there is no impact to security operations; Performing oversight and interface for Security equipment challenges with the various Station departments, including FIN/Maintenance Support/Maintenance I&C interface/coordination, Work Request download meetings, T-6 Schedule meetings, etc.; Coordinating the maintenance and implementation of Fleet and non-Fleet supported Security vehicles, including routine/non-routine repairs and mileage tracking; Acting as the department lead for housekeeping associated with EN-NS-219 ?Housekeeping of Security Work Areas, Structures, and Facilities.; Ordering, tracking and managing Security Uniform and Duty Gear inventories within allocated budgets, for issuance and replacement.
 
Performing technical reviews of Security procedures, policies and post order revisions; Implement actions resulting from the Corrective Action Program; Works with Senior Security Supervisors performing corrective actions, Safeguards work, department DPIC, storage review and filing of daily paperwork, self-assessment field work, industry field work, building reports, develops monthly security communications, assists with security key control program and other senior supervisor tasks; Preparing, reviewing and communicating the Security Newsletter to the organization; Maintaining and implementing the Lock and Key Control Program; Maintaining and implementing the Security Respirator Program; Acting as ESOMS department administrator; Maintaining shift qualifications to support training activities, vacations, military time, and sick time; Assisting the Superintendent and Security Manager with site investigations; Conducting monthly meetings with the Superintendent to ensure team alignment; Participating in the Emergency Response Organization as a TSC Security Coordinator; Acting on behalf of the Security Superintendent in his/her absence; Any and all other requirements as specified by the Security Manager or Security Superintendent.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position:
High School diploma or GED is required, or equivalent work experience. Desired: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Engineering or other discipline generally associated with plant operations.
 
Minimum experience required of the position:
3 years of supervisory/management experience at a nuclear power plant. Desired: 3 years of experience in Nuclear Plant Security, and experience supervising union and contract employees.
 
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:
Technical proficiency in Nuclear Security or the ability to acquire it rapidly. Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation. Desired: Proficiency with current computer based business applications. Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills.
