The Security Officer Lead assesses and manages risk by running reports and provides training for the Corewell Health system in accordance with Joint Commission standards and the Corewell Health Security Management Plan. Responsibilities include department training, deployment of security training for hospital employees, leading shifts in the absence of a supervisor, as well as peer coaching and feedback.
Essential FunctionsEnsures that all risk assessments are performed. This includes an annual security risk assessment of each building, including regional locations. Communication of findings with appropriate agencies and managersKnowledge and application of the PA330 and the MCOLES procedures associated with the actTrains, develops, and evaluates assigned personnel. Comes up with innovative ways to train staff. Maintains training recordsEnsures that department personnel meet department, city, state, and federal safety training and qualification requirements.Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate. Completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basisActs as front-line informal leader to peers on a regular basis. Provides coaching and feedback to team members on job duty performance. Is a demonstrated subject matter expert in healthcare security, as well as daily operations of the facility they are responsible forReviews technology, and prepares written reports for internal investigations and police investigationsQualificationsRequired
