Security Professional – Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO)

\n

The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO), a critical member of Honeywell Government Security Compliance (GSC), ensures compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) requirements for cleared industry. The selected candidate will serve as Assistant FSO for a cleared facility with safeguarding capability, and will interface with Honeywell, industry, and government representatives to clarify and interpret requirements and resolve security issues.

This position requires a security professional who must be able to operate independently, display excellent judgement and decision-making ability, and have a well-rounded understanding of industrial security and other security disciplines required to administer a compliant and effective security program.

\n

Responsibilities:

\n\nServe as Assistant Facility Security Officer for a cleared facility.\nServe as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for industrial, physical, operational, and personnel security at\n\n

the assigned facility.

\n\nCoordinate with program managers, engineering staff, facility leadership, site security, and other\n\n

personnel to deliver effective and compliant security services in support of national security programs.

\n\nServe as security SME throughout the contract life cycle, advising on security considerations during\n\n

RFP, award, extension, modification, and closeout phase.

\n\nProcess and maintain records for classified contracts (DD Form 254, Contract Security Classification\n\n

Specification) held or conducted at the facility.

\n\nCoordinate personnel security clearance requirements with various government entities, from initial\n\n

application to re-investigation and incident reporting.

\n\nCoordinate required security education for cleared employees, to include initial security briefings,\n\n

annual refresher, caveat and other specialized training through an automated training system.
•     Coordinate shipping and packaging of classified materials in accordance with government regulations.
•     Maintain an Information Security Management System database used for contracts management, facility metrics, classified inventory, compliance data, personnel security management, and training records.

\n\nMaintain government systems of record on behalf of the facility, including NISS, DISS, NBIS, etc.
• Participate in various government security reviews, conduct and document government-required self-inspections, and implement any corrective actions identified.
•     Assist with the development, construction and government approval of Open Storage Areas and restricted areas in support of classified contracts.\nAssign and control access to Open Storage Areas and restricted areas through regular combination\n\n

changes and maintenance of GSA-approved locks, security containers, and alarm systems.

\n\nConduct and assist in formal investigations into security violations, incidents, and possible or\n\n

suspected compromises of classified information.

\n\nReport foreign visitors to the facility to government agencies and schedule debriefings, as required.\nProvide foreign travel briefings and debriefings, facilitate cleared employees with foreign travel reporting requirements.\nParticipate in various compliance standardization teams throughout the Government Security Compliance (GSC) organization.\nLiaise with Export Compliance officers to ensure compliance with EAR and ITAR regulations.\nServe as a member of professional security organization NCMS, represent Honeywell in local chapter meetings.\n

 

\n

Must Have's:

\n\n1 year experience as FSO or Assistant FSO, or.\n2 years’ experience in a DOD or other industrial security program; or related professional roles with security, compliance and/or data protection related scope and responsibility.\nMust be able to acquire and/or maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
