Security-Regional Trainer

Allied Universal® is hiring a Regional Trainer to work out of the White Marsh Branch Office. The Regional Trainer will teach Allied Universal employees at all levels, upskilling employees to develop a safety, service, and growth mindset. Training course development, delivery and compliance-tracking will be conducted in accordance with all federal, state or province, and local laws and regulations, while also adhering to Allied Universal standards and values.

This is an entry level position in the Training and Development department.

With regards to the actual position, the ideal candidate will need to become a NRA Law Enforcement Firearm Instructor, therefore the ideal candidate must have the following:

At least (3) years experience as a current licensed private security officer or privatized correctional officer who is authorized and required to be armed in official capacity

or

At least (3) years experience as a current, retired or previously employed public law enforcement or correctional officer, working for a federal, state, county municipal or other government agency who is required to be armed.

or

A current(not retired or former) uniformed or civilian member of the US Military, Military Reserves or National Guard, or a Full-Time civilian firearm instructor employed by a Public Law Enforcement Agency or a Government Contractor (GSA) Approved

or

Has the Maryland Firearms Instructor Certification (Including Red Card)

AND

Must possess a valid driver’s license, have own vehicle and have a clean driving record for last 2 years

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop training content to support internal customer training requests and external client needsWork with operational partners (Human Resource Coordinators/Branch Managers) to develop practical training programs at the branch level to comply with contractual and regulatory trainingDrive Training Academy performance at the Region, Branch and Site level, guiding teams to continuous improvementDeliver region training programs in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, Allied Universal standards, and contractual requirementsCommunicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal customers (Operations and Training Leadership at all levels, and Security Professionals), and external clientsAttend Workforce Management (WFM) or other Operations meetings to communicate region, branch or site metrics using DOMO business intelligence for Academy compliance, federal/state/local training compliance, Mobile Patrol, and additional training topicsSend weekly reports on Academy completions (SP, SS and SM) as well as any upcoming vILT courses on the National Training Calendar. This includes armed compliance, mobile patrol, and use of force cardsConduct site visits each quarter; address academy non-compliance issues, perform training as necessary, meet with client contact when possible; document visit details; develop training programs as needed to address any performance deficienciesIdentify, vet, and establish relationships with local training academies for support when requiredDeliver fire safety services (occupant, floor warden, and staff presentations; and evacuation drills), and other contracted or agreed upon services such as workplace violence/active shooter trainingConduct training:CPR/First Aid/Automated External Defibrillator (AED)Defensive Tactics (e.g., handcuffs, pepper spray, batons, Tasers, firearms)Mobility Devices (e.g., vehicles, bicycle, golf cart, Segway)Field training for Security Professionals and SupervisorsConduct special projects on an as-needed basis to support the region

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalentAbility to obtain and maintain all necessary state or federal licensing requirementsWhere firearms instruction is required, must be able to obtain Pistol Instructor certification within 90 days of placementMust possess a valid driver’s license if driving a company-owned vehicleMinimum of three (3) years of classroom instructor experienceKnowledge of and experience with customer service and relationsProven experience with personnel supervision and managementDemonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlinesHighly organized and able to keep on track with required information at all timesExcellent attendance and punctualityAbility to work in a very independent environmentExcellent oral and written communication skills; ability to write manuals, review and respond to written requests for proposals, training documents, and prepare extensive presentationsHighly proficient and fully functional in Microsoft programs such as Word and PowerPointProfessional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretionProven ability to maintain correspondence, discussions, and materials in strictest confidenceWillingness and ability to travel as well as work extended hours to meet business objectivesMust be able to focus and multi-task in busy environment, with the ability to successfully handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

College degree in Education, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or other private security or law enforcement related fieldPrior work experience in Regulated Security Solutions (RSS) or a regulated security industry (i.e., Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Department of energy, Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security), or investigative work experience in law enforcementCertification in security, safety, or trainingPrior experience in teaching in the fire service, security industry, law enforcement and/or militaryExperience in security operations or other functions of security industry
