Ericsson Research Türkiye is a research site in Istanbul, which is active in two research areas: the Networks area and the Security area.
Research Area Security is recruiting a new researcher in Türkiye
Research Area Security performs research on all aspects of network, platform, and service security, ranging from basic cryptography in hardware, all the way to the user interface by which the end-user interacts with the security functions. This includes 5G, 6G and IoT security, physical layer security, zero-touch security management, zero-trust architecture for telecom, software security, monitoring and audit, to achieve trustworthy mobile communication systems. We cooperate globally with leading academic institutions and together with our customers and partners. We drive the standards in 3GPP and other security standardization fora. Our work generates patents and the required expertise to serve Ericsson’s product and business units.
The candidate should be able to:
Work in an international team of world-class security colleagues and researchers with different backgrounds and experiences in developing novel security solutions and concepts for future mobile network evolution.
Actively participate and drive Security Standardization as a delegate and back office for 3GPP SA3.
Being a Delegate requires physically travelling to SA3 meetings 6-8 weeks per year during normal times. The candidate should have the willingness and ability to travel internationally on a frequent basis.
Write standardization contributions in the area of 5G/6G security, in cooperation with other colleagues.
Represent Ericsson in SA3 meetings, and potentially also university collaborations and customer meetings.
Manage and contribute to industry-related interactions and engagements with Ericsson Product Lines, Development Units, Customer Units and ecosystem partners.
Qualifications
PhD, MSc. degree or equivalent, in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related. Preferably with a specialization towards Networking and Communication.
Excellent knowledge of Mobile Networks and industry understanding
Excellent skills in mobile communication security.
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Comfortable with speaking in public, participating in discussions and technical debates.
Outstanding networking, collaboration, communication and innovation skills with high energy and motivation.
Excellent analytical thinking with a high ability to understand and drive technical solutions.
Proven skills from working with security in mobile networks preferably in radio networks and experience of security standardization, is extra valued.
