Security/Safety Full Time

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Security Officers/Security Guards observe and reports incidents 24/7 at the Glass City Center and the Huntington Center. Be alert at all times and log any occurrences during shift.Answer incoming customer phone calls and take appropriate action for each call.Report any hazardous conditions or emergency situations to management, follow safety precautions and log in book.Responsible for desk coverage until replacement arrivesUse company policies to determine if there can be an immediate resolution to a customer issue or if managerial input is neededInput data into the company computer platform to keep each customer record updatedFrequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.Must effectively work with a variety of staff, customers and visitors, sometimes under potentially stressful situations. Must have the ability to work with diverse populations and possess exceptional interpersonal skills.Works closely with the clients and the general public and represents the facility in communicating building policies with clients regarding safety and security, move in/out, and all over the facility.Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of SeaGate Centre’s and Huntington Center’s command center and first aid room in a first-class manner.Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries, possess effective interpersonal skills.Keep the Safety Manager informed of day-to-day activitiesThis is not intended to be a comprehensive list of duties performed by this classification, but rather a representation of general duties. Education and/or Experience:

A good knowledge of command centers, fire alarm panels, surveillance tools and event security equipment used in event production, skill in the techniques of handling the tools and event equipment used in a variety of events and shows.

Language Skills:

Must have ability to verbally communicate with the general public, clients, co-workers and management. Should also have written communication skills and some computer skills.

Reasoning Ability:

Must have excellent organizational skills. Must have the ability to work with management, employees, clients and the public. Manager should be able to work from CAD drawings and event checklists. Should also have the ability to make quick decisions with regards to safety and security.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

 Should possess a valid Ohio driver’s license.  Must complete FEMA Courses ICS-100 and ICS-700 within 30 days of hire date.

Physical Demands:

Should be able to lift up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. A physical presence is required in many areas of the facility and should have mobility.

Work Environment:

The work of this class involves evening, weekend, and holiday work with short turn around deadlines. The Safety and Security team may be asked to work outdoors as well as indoors on any ASM Global managed Toledo property. Must be well-groomed and dress in accordance with ASM policy and procedure manual.
