A Security Officer’s main responsibilities are monitoring and protecting hospital patients, employees, guests and property, preserving the peace, preventing crime, and detecting and detaining violators. Daily tasks include responding to hospital emergency codes, patrolling lots and clinics in squad car, rounding of aggressive flagged patients or those at risk for security intervention, writing reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences, and liaison to orient responding law enforcement agencies.

Full-time 64-80 hours every 2 weeks Weekdays 12:30p-9:00p/wknd 8:30a-9:00p Every Thurs & Fri, e/o Sat, Sun & MonPay and Benefits:

A valid Minnesota driver’s license and a driving record in good standing are required. Minimum training and certification up to the level of EMR within 90 days of hire Must become certified in the use of the ASP expandable baton, handcuffing, NCI and X26 taser, as well as experience the effects of receiving a taser hit within 6 months of hire – Training on this is provided. Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required prior to completion of unit orientation.
