Compensation: $52,478 to $78,728 per year
Job Summary:Under the direct supervision of the Security Manager, is responsible for the day-to-day security operations on the assigned shift. Responsible for managing, supervising, and monitoring the overall security area including all security department team members for efficiency, guest service, adherence to all departmental, Catawba Nation Gaming Authority, Catawba Nation Gaming commission policies, procedures, and directives, protecting all CNGA assets. Develop and mentors team members.
Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for the protection of Catawba National Gaming Authority assets. Review daily shift reports and follow up on incidents of importance. Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures, including System of Internal Control Standards (SICS) and Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS). Maintains training database of security supervisors, leads, and officers. Reviews all incident reports for completeness and accuracy. Conducts follow-up investigations into a variety of criminal and non-criminal incidents as directed by the Security Manager. Maintains inventory log of lost and found and coordinates donation and disposal of long-term items. Populates the time keeping system for all assigned Security team members on the respective shift. Reviews camera footage and initiates investigations where warranted. Prepares documentation of findings and submits with recommendations to the Security Manager. Assists the Security Manager in analyzing and recommending changes to staffing levels. Actively participates in all departmental and company meetings and training courses, as required. Maintains filing systems related to pending and completed investigations. Maintains equipment logs and recommends new purchases. Provides input into performance evaluations and direction for supervisors. Maintains excellent communication with team members and maintains a positive and professional work environment. Contributes team effort and accomplishes related results as required. Performs outstanding internal/external guest service. Ensures that all Security team members perform excellent guest service. Performs other duties as required or directed. Qualifications / ExperienceAssociate’s degree in criminal justice, business administration, administration of justice, management, or a related field plus four (4) years’ experience in security or law enforcement and two (2) years as a supervisor in security or law enforcement preferably in the gaming industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be 21 years of age or older. No felony, theft, assault or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of applicable federal, county, local laws, tribal laws, regulations, and requirements. Knowledge of investigative techniques. Ability to operate business computers and office machines, including a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and presentation software (such as PowerPoint). Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in writing with staff and the public. Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with team members at all levels. Ability to follow instructions in verbal and written format. Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Ability to demonstrate moral character, honesty, tact, fairness, lack of prejudice and desire to help when dealing with people. Ability to analyze situations and adopt appropriate courses of action. Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to walk and stand for extended periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The team member frequently is required to sit. The team member occasionally is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds.
