Security Solutions Advisor
Job Description Our client from a large research university is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Solutions Advisor to join the risk management team. This team is responsible for consultative service, cyber guidance, compliance and regulatory expectations across the university. For example, this team would consult a research group on the types of controls they need to be aware of and the type of data they can possess. This hybrid role will be based on the Seattle campus and will involve supporting partners across the university by navigating requests for support, routing them to the correct teams, and identifying if the team has the ability to make that call. Provide Tier 0 and Tier 1 coordination and understanding of requests and levels of involvement. Support external partners across the campus by navigating requests for support. Route requests to the appropriate teams and identify if the team has the capability to address the request. Utilize a strong background in security or a robust understanding of compliance, risk assessment, privacy requirements, PCI, DSS, GLBA, FISMA, FERPA, and regulatory compliance for DOD. Communicate effectively with various teams and personalities across the university. Skills and Requirements 10+ years of total experience in security, compliance, or a related field. Strong understanding of compliance such as PCI, DSS, GLBA, FISMA, FERPA, regulatory DOD compliance, risk assessment, and privacy requirements. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and personalities. Experience in higher education environment is ideal. A professional with a strong security background or a deep understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements. An effective communicator who can navigate complex requests and coordinate with multiple teams.
