We are currently seeking a Security Specialist to join our team in Merrifield, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).
The Security Specialist (Senior) shall provide support in the area of information, personnel and physical security in support of DOJ security policies, procedures standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, and classified operations from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, sabotage or loss. The Security Specialist (Senior) shall conduct a continuing security analysis and recommend improvements and corrective measure to upgrade security administration, procedures and processes. The Security Specialist (Senior) shall provide and make recommendations to implement physical security requirements to include access control, escort activities, property inventory and management, monitoring of intrusion detection systems protecting the facility and safety. The Security Specialist (Senior) shall assist in implementing policies and procedures for analyzing and assisting the Task Monitor/Manager in evaluating the character, background, and history of employees and other persons having or proposed to be granted access to classified or sensitive materials. The Security Specialist (Senior) shall also assist in managing the maintenance agreements for all security equipment and shall assist in the Accreditation of Open Storage Areas (OSA) up to the secret level and the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) for all systems and networks supporting the classified programs within the OFC.
This role will be responsible for providing support in these specific areas of security programs:
Provide JSTARS system maintenance Assist with passing clearances requirements for DOJ personnel Processing of contractor security packages Management of DD-254 related requirements E-Qip Investigations Clearance verifications for detailed government employees Send Word Now database maintenance Preparation of DOJ security reporting requirements Security checks (NCIC/NLETS) Parking management (space management, validations and parking passes) Monthly closing roster Access control management Surveillance system management Intruder Detection System management Administrative credentials PIV card requests Lock/key management Safe inventory Document Control Safety management Active shooter plan Maintenance of the security database SOP development
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years of experience in E-Quip, management of DD-254 related requirements, and other security databases, to include a minimum 2 years of experience with all or many of the areas of the following security programs: Information Personnel Physical Bachelors degree required Education Equivalency: 8 years of experience will substitute degree. Secret security clearance required.
