Security Specialist

Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) is hiring a Security Specialist to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Professional & Operational Support Services in Dahlgren, VA. NSWC Dahlgren requires on-site operational support for day-to-day operations of the Corporate Operations Department, Security Division. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in the implementation and support of Department of the Navy (DON) Physical Security (PHYSEC), Antiterrorism Force Protection (AT/FP), and Emergency Management (EM) programs. This is an on-site position with possible hybrid telework opportunities.

Responsibilities

Supports implementation of Department of the Navy (DoN) Physical Security (PHYSEC) to include the Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AA&E) Program

Supports and performs facility walkthroughs, inspections and surveys and develop reports detailing findings

Sanitizes spaces for foreign national visits when required and review foreign national security plan for on-site foreign nationals

Supports annual department physical security surveys

Updates Critical Asset Lists and Mission Essential Vulnerability Assessments (MEVAs)

Working knowledge of Lenel access control system including system reporting

Experience developing security related work requests/trouble tickets

Performs combination changes for various secure locks and coordinate with facilities trouble tickets for lock issues

Experience in development and implementation of classified space security practices and procedures

Assists with random anti-terrorism measures (RAMs) and reporting to include the scheduling and execution of administrative checks, preparing annual RAM schedule, conducting monthly RAMs and provide findings to the Physical Security Lead

Supports physical security pre-accreditation for each restricted area, inspecting above the ceiling and below the floor, and develop required reporting

Develops Open Storage Secret SOPs, instruction in security practices and procedures pertaining to classified spaces, including opening, and closing, visitor control, storage of classified material and courier procedures

Assists in management of command key control (issuance, return & tracking) program to include annual key inventories and tracking of the temporary, daily check out of keys

Maintains tracking of all combination locks in their area crossed referenced to custodian, location, type of container, classification (Strong Room (SR), vault, safe, date combination changed) using a tracking tool provided by the Government

Supports Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection activities by assisting command travelers in the completion, submission, and review of Isolated Preparation reports (ISOPREP)

Provides Anti-Terrorism support by supporting the review of Individual Anti-Terrorism Plans (IATP) for command travelers and routing as required by the DoD Foreign Clearance Guide (FCG)

Qualifications

Three (3) years of experience in the areas of physical security, anti-terrorism force protection and emergency management

High School Diploma

Demonstratable skill with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)

Ability to work independently and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to include specific Government formats and reports

Ability to climb a ladder to perform physical security assessments

All personnel providing support under this requirement must possess clearances at the Interim SECRET level or higher
