Summary You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Security Office of COM SUBMARINE GROUP 9. Responsibilities You will advise the Commander, Submarine Group Nine, on security issues pertaining to Special Security programs, especially those relating to the operational submarine force. You will ensure all required security inspections are coordinated and conducted as required. You will administer and manage the personnel security program. You will maintain a close working relationship with the staff and subordinate unit Security Managers to ensure personnel maintain clearance eligibility. You will evaluate the effectiveness of security practices, recommend control measurements and assure adherence to policies. You will provide guidance to staff and all subordinate commands on maintaining a quality information security program. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying security concepts, principles, and practices to monitor established security systems and programs (e.g., Special Access Program (SAP), Controlled Access Program (CAP), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)) to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities or threats; and analyzing and implementing security policies and regulations to meet command mission.
