Summary About the Position: The DEVCOM Analysis Center (DAC) is an Army organization comprised mostly of civilian science and engineering professionals. DAC's mission is to deliver objective analysis, experimentation, and data across the entire life cycle to ensure our Warfighters are ready today and more ready in the future. DAC is one of eight science and technology domains within the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) that serves 21 locations across the United States. Responsibilities Serve as Security Specialist for the DEVCOM Analysis Center (DAC) G-2 Intelligence and Security Office at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Primary responsibilities involve Operations Security (OPSEC) and Tech Protect (TP). Conduct in-depth review of public release documents and draft and maintain the organization's Critical Information List (CIL). Duties include OPSEC planning; managing the organization's OPSEC working group; and providing applicable OPSEC training to the workforce. Identify technology for nomination to the Critical Protected Technology List (CPTL). Attend TP working groups and remain abreast of the latest rules, regulations, and communities of practice. Maintain knowledge of Research and Technology Protection (RTP) guidance and regulations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: 1) applying security methods used for safeguarding information, property, personnel, operations, and/or materials; 2) assist in managing Sensitive Compartmentalize Information (SCI) related activities, requests, and/or information; and 3) utilizing personnel security automated databases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DE-02 or GS-5/11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. This position is covered under an alternative personnel system known as the Army Futures Command (AFC) Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) Demonstration Project. The Demonstration replaces GS grade levels with occupational families and pay bands. The salary range of the position being filled will not be decreased with the change to pay bands. This position, Security Specialist, DE-0080-02 which incorporates GS-5 step 1 through GS-11 step 10 grade and salary levels. The full-performance level of this position is DE-02. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Three year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
