SECURITY SPECIALIST
Summary You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Security Office of the Commander, PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF, Security Services Branch. Responsibilities You will assist the Security Services Branch Head in the development, implementation, and monitoring of command security programs, policies, and procedures to ensure the protection of personnel, facilities, equipment, and sensitive information. You will investigate security violations within Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNS and IMF) pertaining to the loss, or possible compromise, of classified and/or sensitive material. You will develop and execute a schedule of Information Security audits/exercises to ensure that PHNS and IMF personnel are following established security procedures and remaining compliant with applicable security instructions. You will inspect offices and spaces for security violations, conduct security container inspections, and plan and execute information security drills. You will investigate problems and discrepancies to determine causes and recommend resolutions to supervisors. You will assist the Operations Security (OPSEC) Program Managers and departments in identifying critical information, analyzing threat and vulnerabilities, assessing risk, and developing and applying countermeasures. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector interpreting and implementing policies and procedures for an information security program, protecting critical information or material from compromise, and promptly resolving security violations to support shipyard operations. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
