SECURITY SPECIALIST (PHYSICAL)
Summary You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST (PHYSICAL) in the Protection Ops of COMNAVREG SE JAX. Responsibilities You will conduct Physical Security inspections and surveys to identify critical and vulnerable facilities and potential threats. You will brief and debrief personnel on security awareness for personnel seeking authorization or authorized to the facility. You will research and interpret security regulations and guidance to develop or update local Physical Security plans and operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Interpreting a wide range of security concepts to include DoN Force Protection, Physical Security, and other Security programs to independently analyze and/or resolve difficult and complex security problems and issues at the Region level while conducting assist visits and inspections. 2) Preparing threat assessments for personnel and assets which have force protection responsibilities; 3) Conduct classroom, formal, and informal training on crime prevention and physical security awareness programs Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. OR Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. OR Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled. OR Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
