Summary THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is part of the IN 122nd Fighter Wing, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number D2161000. Responsibilities Reviews all operations, mobility, contingency, and exercise plans to ensure combat readiness for the SF Squadron. Responsible for proper security, classification, and storage of classified documents. Oversees the coordination, review, and implementation of SF manning authorizations and military personnel assignments. Serves as the SF commander's key staff member responsible for the overall management of the unit-training program by overseeing the planning, organizing, directing, operating, and evaluating all unit training related items. Serves as the subject matter expert and consultant to the unit commander on all matters pertaining to the availability and management of the SF training program to meet the needs of the organization and mission. Develops, administers, and oversees the management of the unit's training programs to supervisors. Instructs supervisors and trainers on the concepts, scope, and objectives of training programs. Directs the certification testing (CERTEST) program. Forecasts and submits Deployment For Training requirements in coordination with SF commander to ANG NGB/A7. Conducts unit self-inspections and assessments. Plans, formulates, analyzes, and coordinates budget submissions. Represents SF at wing training meetings. When needed or directed, performs and enforces the full range of security forces duties within the military installation. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications MILITARY GRADES: E4 through E6 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months of experience, training, and/or knowledge in progressively responsible work that demonstrates the candidate's full competency (Knowledge, Skill, Ability, and Behaviors) to perform tasks and responsibilities as described in the pertinent position description. It includes military administration, military security, and/or personnel management experience that prepares the applicant to perform the duties and responsibilities to achieve the required competency levels as defined by the applicable position description. Knowledgeable on the management and administration of the Intrusion Detection System program. Experienced in advising supervisor of any base or site activities that may impact the Integrated Base Defense Security Systems program. Skilled in completing reports and documents the Intrusion Detection System program maintenance requirements to the servicing maintenance organization. Experienced in monitoring Intrusion Detection System false and nuisance alarms and knowledgeable on how to request assistance from the maintenance organization to resolve problems and deficiency. Must have at least 12 months of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level. If approved, the memorandum will be returned to you and then submitted with your application. Education You may combine education with specialized experience to meet the length of experience requirement for GS-09. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9. To qualify on education alone must have one of the following: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
