You will work closely with the Special Security Officer (SSO) to ensure the effective implementation and management of security protocols, particularly concerning classified information and Special Access Programs (SAPs). Join us and play a pivotal role in supporting our client's strategic objectives. **Key Responsibilities:** + Assist the SSO in developing, implementing, and enforcing security policies and procedures. + Assist the SSO in overseeing the security clearance process for employees and contractors, including background investigations and clearance maintenance. + Conduct security briefings and training sessions for personnel accessing classified information and SAPs. + Manage and maintain the security database, including access control records and document handling. + Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with government security regulations and organizational policies. + Participate in security audits and inspections, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending corrective actions. + Assist in incident response and reporting, including investigating security breaches. + Provide support and guidance to security staff and other personnel on security-related matters. + Stay updated on changes in security regulations and best practices, advising the organization accordingly. **Qualifications:** + Preferred - Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field (or equivalent experience). + Previous experience in a security-related role, particularly in managing classified information and SAPs. + Knowledge of government security regulations and policies, including NISPOM and other applicable directives. + Security certifications (e.g., CSSO, FSO, CPP) are preferred but not required. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. + Ability to maintain discretion and handle sensitive information with confidentiality. **Location:** Washington, DC. **Clearance Required:** Position requires an active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with ability to obtain additional security requirements. **Our Equal Employment Opportunity Policy:** The company is an equal opportunity employer.
