Security Supervisor

The Security Supervisor at the Recovery & Wellness Center (RWC), and the South-Central Rehabilitation Center (SCRC) plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our facility, staff, and clients. Reporting directly to the Security Manager, the Security Supervisor oversees daily security operations, maintains a secure environment, and responds to incidents as needed. This role requires being on call for security incidents outside of regular shifts. Both facilities are operational 24/7.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Supervisory Role: Directly supervise and lead a team of security personnel, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
+ Security Oversight: Monitor facility premises through patrols, CCTV systems, and regular checks to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, disorder, or safety hazards.
+ Safety: Ensures the safety of patients, visitors, personnel, and property throughout, conducts E.O.C hazardous surveillance walkthroughs.
+ Emergency Response: Act swiftly and decisively during emergencies, including medical incidents, disturbances, or security breaches. Coordinate with local authorities as necessary.
+ Being On Call: Remain available outside of scheduled shifts to respond to urgent security incidents, provide guidance to security staff, and support crisis situations as needed. Create on call schedule as the Security Supervisor shares on call coverage with the Security Site Lead.
+ Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for security staff on procedures, safety protocols, emergency codes (code blue, red, pink, gray, green 99), crisis management techniques. Ensure staff readiness and competence. Cross train Security Officers to perform duties at both RWC and SCRC to ensure sites function as an overall campus.
+ Incident Documentation: Maintain accurate records of security incidents, investigations, and reports. Compile data for analysis and improvement of security measures. Submit all Security incident reports in RL Solutions.
+ Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments, including medical staff and administration, to address security concerns and maintain a cohesive environment.
+ Policy Enforcement: Enforce center policies related to security, confidentiality, and patient care. Ensure compliance among staff and visitors.
+ Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits. Implement corrective actions to mitigate risks, enhance overall security, attend Risk Assessment Committee meeting reporting on incidents regarding RWC and SCRC.
+ Fire Drills: Coordinate with EOC Manager and conduct quarterly fire drills on each shift.
+ Unannounced Site Visits: Conduct site visits to RWC & SCRC on random shifts to ensure Security Officers are alert and proactive.
+ Invoices & Payroll: Review security vendor invoices and time sheets, submit invoices through Basware. Approves Lead Security Officer’s timecard in ADP.
+ Weekly Site Report: Review site report for RWC & SCRC, ensure that Security Officers are scanning each checkpoint when conducting rounds.
+ Quarterly Post Order & Binder Review: Review post orders quarterly, ensure that all duties and information are up to date, ensure that blank incident reports, and shift reports forms are available.
+ Security Shift Coverage: Responsible for maintaining adequate security shift coverage at RWC and SCRC.
Requirements:
+ High School Diploma/GED required. Additional education in Security is a plus.
+ Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a Security Supervisor or similar role, preferably in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
+ Supervisory/management skills required.
+ Valid Connecticut driver’s license and personal vehicle required.
+ Valid Connecticut Security Officer Certification Identification Card (Guard Card) required.
+ Ability to relate to patients and staff in a pleasant manner.
+ Excellent communication skills with the ability to create and continue good working relationships with employees and patients.
+ Ability to handle troublesome patients sensitively.
+ Ability to act quickly and appropriately in an emergency.
+ Must be highly reliable and punctual
