Security Supervisor- Full Time, Second Shift

Status: Full Time

Shift: Second

Job Summary:

Provide supervision of subordinates; develop, implement, and coordinate security program activities.

 Responsibilities:

Supervision & Training of Security Staff

• Provides security staff guidance and direction to ensure compliance with department and hospital policies and procedures.
• When reasonable and appropriate administers appropriate corrective action to security staff.
• Ensures security staff receive appropriate initial and ongoing training. 
• Provides support to the hospital’s workplace violence training program. 
• Conduct interviews and make recommendations regarding hiring of onsite security staff.
• Ensures security staffing levels are appropriately maintained via staff scheduling. 

Communication
• Effectively communicate applicable and pertinent information to hospital and security 
administration via verbal and written methods. 
• Develop and maintain working relationships with local community partners and first responders 
(e.g. law enforcement).
• Participate on hospital committees and interface with appropriate facility departments. 

Incident Reporting & Analysis
• Review reports and situations for potential negative impact and required follow up. 
• Analyzes department functions and make suggestions, recommendations, and/or changes when 
appropriate to increase effectiveness productivity.
• Ensure hospital incidents and applicable paperwork are properly documented. 
 

Emergency Response
• Responds quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations.
• Provide direct support and guidance for the hospital’s emergency management program.

Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Four years of prior security experience.

Valid Driver's License with satisfactory driving record.

International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Supervisor Certification within 6 months.
