We are seeking a Security Systems Engineer 3 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets. 

Clearance/Citizen Type: Requires the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

What you’ll do: 

As an Electronic Systems Security Engineer, you will be working with a dynamic team of technical professionals and engineers responsible for advancing capabilities and achieving operational efficiencies through new technical solutions.  You should understand how to protect people and facilities by deploying tried and true as well as cutting edge technology. You should be able to quickly and thoroughly understand a customer's needs and translate that into a system design that can be deployed at scale around the globe.

You will work closely with operational unit and program stakeholders to assess current customer capabilities and evaluate against the latest and emerging technologies and best practices.  You will be responsible for researching, developing, testing and evaluation of new capabilities and technical integrations to drive security improvements for various government and commercial clients.  You will be responsible for collaborating with stakeholders as you build and oversee the testing of various implementing and maintaining multi-tenant, multi-cloud, cloud and on-prem IT infrastructure solutions to ensure the success of multiple customers across multiple programs.

Position Requirements:

Hands-on experience designing and deploying Physical Security Systems or systems of similar complexity Significant experience with Systems Development and Project Management Lifecycles. System administration experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving the system problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, and implementing new client workstations and system extensions. Reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer Professional curiosity and a bias for driving meaningful change for our customers and workforce. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to travel up to 10% Ability to pass a government background screening

Key Requirements:

 Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline with 7+ years of security systems or similar experience  Working knowledge and/or certification with electronic security manufacturers such as JCI Softwarehouse (CCure), Identiv, Lenel, AMAG, Software   House, FLIR, Bosch, Genetec, HID, Axis, Intellicene (formerly Verint). Candidate should be able to understand how these systems operate and where   their limitations lie.       Configuration experience with Bosch tools, and experience upgrading CCure and Genetec preferred.  Also experience with emergency call stations a      plus.       Working knowledge and/or certification with communications and network protocols and services including TCP/IP, RS232, RS485, network-based     video distribution (Multicast L2/L3).  Corresponding vendor certifications include Associate, Professional, or Expert level certifications from Cisco,   Juniper, Brocade, etc. Experience deploying ESS or IOT devices on secure network environments is a plus.       Working knowledge and/or certification with operating systems commonly used for ACS, IDS, and CCTV systems.  Corresponding vendor     certifications include Associate and Professional certifications from Microsoft, VMWare, and Unix (multiple versions).       Familiarity with physical security designs, standard operating procedures, and security operations       Programming and scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, etc), experience with systems integration tools and protocols (APIs, SOAP and REST, XML/JSON), database design and query development.       Familiarity with and interest in other disciplines and technologies including radio frequency technologies (cellular, Bluetooth, WiFi, etc.), information technology/networks, cybersecurity artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Essential responsibilities and activities include but are not limited to:

      Assist with the analysis, evaluation, engineering, and implementation of system improvements, optimization, and deployments. Meet with the customer to understand the security needs and develop requirements and test plans.       Work closely with industry partners and OEMs to implement the latest and best-in-bread capabilities to meet the customers emerging needs. Identify candidate technologies and evaluate them against the defined requirements. Become an expert on the system and be able to communicate how the system enables the solution and where its limitations lie. Work with internal teams to assess and resolve all privacy, network security, and scalability concerns for the systems.  Develop plans and schedules for project delivery and host/facilitate meetings to collaborate and inform stakeholders of statuses.  Write high quality documentation for system standards and operations. Work hand in hand with installation and administration teams to field the solutions. Continually re-evaluate the systems to ensure they are still effective and actively assess how new technology developments or changes in the environment may require new solutions. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on security engineering needs and requirements for system performance, installations, and sustainment programs and provide recommended improvements per industry best practices
