Summary

Security Systems Engineer III

Position Highlights:

The Security Systems Engineer Ill, will create and maintain the architecture of security controls for applications of systems, such as infrastructure and web application firewalls, as well as provide security recommendations. Responsible for leading foundational technology security reviews and assessments and conduct decision making in the deployment of security controls. May investigate, create, and recommend innovative technologies or other methods that will enhance the security of various technology environments. The Security Engineer III will also create and engineer an organizational SIEM and log solution in concert with organizational monitoring platforms. This position will also have experience in delivering XDR across the organization. This position also assists in the review and update of enterprise security policies, architectures and standards, as well as analyze and make recommendations to improve network, system and application architectures, through documentation and diagrams. This position interfaces with stakeholders at all levels and roles within the organization, to ensure security delivery across multiple cloud platforms (public and private).

 

Responsibilities:

 

Performs installation and configuration management of security systems and applications, including policy assessment and compliance tools, network security appliances and host-based security systems. Research threats and vulnerabilities and, where appropriate, takes action to mitigate threats and remediate vulnerabilities Designs infrastructure and web applications firewalls, including physical and virtual firewalls Participates in infrastructure projects to develop, plan and implement specifications for network and distributed system security technologies in support of key information systems Implements or coordinates remediation required by audits, and document exceptions as necessary. Also works with Cyber Security on any issues or challenges

 

Credentials and Education:

 

Bachelor’s degree – field of study: Computer Science or Information Systems Minimum of 10 years of experience in an IT support environment, which should include experience in more than one of the following IT disciplines: Complex IT Portfolio environment including large scale systems, servers, storage and networking. Network security, to include VPN, firewall, network monitoring, intrusion detection, web server security and wireless security, cloud, OT, and the Internet of Things (IoT) Practical experience with database security, content filtering, vulnerability scanning and anti-malware Technology background in systems, networking and/or data storage design, engineering and support.
