Security Training Coordinator

POSITION PURPOSE
Reviews and/or provides advice, support, and training to Froedtert South employees and affiliated staff on security related matters to include interpretation and application of security training policies, regulations procedures, investigation of incident reports verbal and physical de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution, threatening behavior, active shooter response, and other relevant topics. Evaluates the impact of training and addresses educational gaps to strengthen the security related functions throughout Froedtert South facilities. Designs training and security-related programs to meet identified needs, as approved per Froedtert South’s guidelines, and assists Director with management duties related to staff recruitment, retention, disciplinary actions, daily operations, scheduling, quality assurance projects, and general management of Guest Relations/Security department.SITE(S)

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
Degree or certificate from academy or technical school in Police Science, Criminal Justice, or related field preferred. Valid driver’s license, with proof of positive driving record, to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Wisconsin and/or Illinois.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
2 years of supervisory experience. 5 years of leading, developing, and coordinating security-related training programs in classroom settings, training facilities, academies, hospitals, etc. (preferred). Instructor at law enforcement academy experience (preferred). Verbal de-escalation/professional communications instructor-level (preferred).
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Wisconsin. Principles of Subject Control (POSC) or Defense and Arrest Tactics (DAAT) instructor-level (preferred) [instructor-level in comparable program would be considered]. Taser trainer/instructor (preferred, but not required). Ability to possess a firearm per HR218/LEOSA – WI (preferred, but not required).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
Report writing skills (law enforcement background preferred). Ability to conduct physical and verbal de-escalation training, and to assist with combative individuals. Knowledge in reviewing use of force events at an expert-level (preferred). Experience with operating two-way radio equipment, computers, various computer-based programs, surveillance, and access control systems, etc. Strong reading and writing skills. Ability to comprehend instructions and material in English. Ability to work with confidential information.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Develop workplace violence-related prevention and response programs. Develop de-escalation, scenario-based, and online training programs. Provide a secure environment for patients, employees, and visitors. Network with law enforcement and emergency responders as appropriate to coordinate plans, policies, and exercises/drills. Participate on various committees and develop reports as requested. Assist with maintaining Security Management and Emergency Operations Plans. Ensure Joint Commission, CMS, and Life Safety compliance is met/exceeded. Assist Director in general operations of the Guest Relations/Security department including human resources-related issues and day-to-day operations.
