Position Title: Security Worker Job Posting Closing Date: ***OPEN UNTIL FILLED*** [Applications will be considered in the order they are submitted.] The Events Division of the Provo Library is looking for a highly dependable individual to fill the role of part-time Security worker at the Provo City Library. This position involves maintaining safety and security at Provo Library for staff, patrons, and Library materials. (Payment will be made by direct deposit.) What will I do? + Maintain security in the library and on the grounds. + Monitor security cameras. + Observe and/or patrol designated areas or routes. + Write daily shift reports of activities. + Watch for and report theft, vandalism, or general impropriety. + Assist other staff members as needed and perform other related work as required. What do I need to apply? + Ability to read and follow directions. + Interact with the public at a level sufficient to demonstrate an ability to perform the duties of the position. + Previous security experience is desirable. + Skills test may be given. + Selected candidate(s) will be provided basic security training before beginning duties. What are the hours? Approximately 15 to 20 hours per week, between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. What are the physical and environmental factors? This work requires physical strength and agility to perform the work; and exposure to adverse weather conditions, hazardous materials, and potentially stressful circumstances. What is the selection process? This position is open until filled and will be closed when sufficient, qualified applications to proceed with a competitive selection process have been received (at least seven days).
