Accountable to the Canada Seed Science Operations Manager, this position is responsible for day-to-day operational aspects related to the management and execution of the canola field trial program in the Manitoba region. This leadership role will be responsible for overseeing operational plans, facilitating workflows, helping manage assets and budgets, maintaining equipment resources, inventory management, and ensuring all Stewardship and Regulatory compliance standards are upheld.

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or related discipline. Master’s or PhD degree in agriculture or related disciplines will be an asset.Minimum 5 yrs experience conducting small plot field research. Experience working in the canola industry required.Minimum 3-5 yrs experience in a supervisory or managerial role.Experience in stewarded & regulated field trialing, plant breeding, genetics, canola agronomy, canola botany, pollen flow, genetic purity, and conducting research trials using statistical design and analysis are all assets.Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting tractors, sprayers, plot combines, and other small plot equipment, as well as loading, unloading, and trailering equipment, is an asset.Problem solving skills and ability to be flexible and modify plans as required to minimize impact on data and production as situations arise.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Create your own chemistry with you@BASF
