BrightFarms' fresh lettuce options, from classic greens to crunchy mixes and salad kits, are available in more than 3,700 retail stores across the East Coast and Midwest. 

The Seeding Lead will be responsible for coordinating the daily harvest plan and harvest crew in a safe and efficient manner. They will also follow their supervisor’s instructions in adhering to standardized practices with emphasis on achieving required results. This job is located at our Macon, GA greenhouse.

Specifically, you will:   

Supervise the harvest and sowing crew in daily operations to ensure daily plan and goals are met, correct errors and provide feedback when neededTrain and educate crew in operating procedures with emphasis on safety and food safetyAdhere to all current SOP’s, procedures, inspections and quality requirementsCommunicate with supervisor when irregularities with product or equipment occurCreate daily harvest and sowing plan under guidance of supervisor and make decisions as instructedEnsure accurate record keeping of performed testing and recording charts are properly documented according to company and regulatory guidelinesEnsure harvest and sowing crew maintains a safe, clean, organized work area and performs periodic sanitation as requiredReport food safety and quality problems to Supervisor, the SQF Practitioner or directly to Senior Management

The ideal candidate:   

1 + years of experience in a production environment or related work experienceTraining in Food Safety and SanitationAbility to read and interpret documents such as standard operating procedures, safety rules, label mixing instructionsAbility to fulfill routine logs related to food safety and inspection reportsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers

Preferred Qualifications: 

Food or agriculture industry experience preferred
