**Description**
The Segment Business Director is responsible forthe profitable growth of Boulder Scientific’s highest growth segments including electronics, life sciences and aerospace and defense, and is ultimately accountable for the P&L of these segments. This position also has the responsibility for managing established products and customers in existing markets, as well as guiding the development of new products from opportunity identification, through the technology development pipeline (process development, scale-up), and ultimately commercialization into those markets. The position develops and maintains key customer relationships at multiple organizational levels including high-level interaction with customer R&D and business organizations; therefore, highly technical selling and project management skills are required.
**Job Responsibilities**
+ Develop, maintain and execute key account, product and segment strategies to support both existing and new markets
+ Identify, scope, justify and implement investments and resource allocations to enhance BSC positioning and execution in key markets
+ Develop analysis of key competitors, target end markets and technology roadmaps; Implement recommended actions from these analyses
+ Lead company’s entry into new markets
+ Develop, maintain and deliver short- and long-term revenue forecasts
+ Develop and maintain strong client relationships across multiple customer functions and levels to support and grow current business, while identifying new opportunities for growth with current customers/markets and new customers/markets
+ Identify, develop, prioritize and manage new product and product enhancement opportunities
+ Support cross-functional teams, collaborating across multiple departments ensuring technical, schedule and economic targets for new product development projects are met
+ Utilize strong project management skills, particularly for new product development programs, collaborating with internal and customer team members to meet deliverables and timelines, enabling the commercialization of new products benefiting both BSC and the customer
+ Leverage an industry network to create new opportunities and expand business in existing and new markets
+ Own multiple aspects of day-to-day tactical execution, proactively considering individual actions to be taken to maximize output of the greater team to meet growth goals, including
+ Develop cost models for new products
+ Develop pricing strategy and negotiate pricing and contractual terms for segment products and customers
+ Conceive, create and update sales collateral, most typically owning creation of slides for customer meetings, obtaining input/content from others where needed
+ Participate in BSC strategic marketing and communication efforts, leading the development and communication of the customer value proposition for key BSC markets
+ Visit customers/attend trade shows and conferences in support of growth strategies
**Qualifications**
**Qualifications**
BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or related technical field is required with 15 years related work experience; MS with 12 years related work experience or PhD (preferred) with 10 years related work experience; an MBA is a plus
**Experience**
+ Minimum of ten years of commercial experience in the specialty or fine chemical industry
+ Strong consideration will be given to candidates with experience working with customers in target end markets from a material/chemical supply standpoint, including the electronics materials, life sciences, and aerospace and defense markets. A command of the technology and business of these markets will allow for the greatest success in the role.
+ At least four years project management/experience leading cross-functional teams; direct management experience is a plus
+ Possess the proactive, action-oriented mindset necessary to drive growth in new markets
+ Experience working in an R&D environment
+ Custom/Contract Manufacturing experience is a plus
+ Experience in the use of computer software programs commonly found in sales and manufacturing environments, such as: MS Office, Outlook and ERP systems; familiarity with data analytics software such as Power BI is a plus
+ Ability to travel to Domestic and International locations up to 25% of the time
**Work Environment**
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be keyboarding for extended periods of time. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. The employee will be occasionally visiting manufacturing areas, prep areas, and storage facilities that require the use of PPE.
