Job Description
The Fugro Geophysical service line provides geophysical surveys that maps out the ocean floor and underneath to provide geophysical data, utilizing sonar technologies to do. The geophysical surveys involve a series of techniques and algorithms applied to raw survey data to extract meaningful information about subsurface features. It includes steps such as data quality control, noise removal, filtering, and data enhancement. These processes aim to enhance the signal-to-noise ratio, improve resolution, and create interpretable images or models of the subsurface.
The Seismic Manager leads the seismic acquisition team, responsible for defining and developing strategy and its implementation, as well as communications development to promote and support Fugro’s marine seismic products regionally. Aligns strategy, acquisition, and communication activities, including positioning for all American regions based in the Lafayette, Louisiana office.
Job Responsibilities
Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.Leads the Seismic Center of Expertise that coordinates the provision of marine seismic services across America’s region.Domain expert in seismic acquisition/operations, positioning and understanding of seismic data processing.Interacts with the Operations Managers and Global Seismic director, Commercial managers on strategic opportunities.Ensures technical and commercial solutions, support and advice are provided through the Seismic Centre of Expertise to commercial and operational teams.Helps global seismic director develops roadmap through understanding and tracking of regional trends and translates these into solutions for seismic services in Fugro.Manages and drives the growth of Fugro’s seismic capabilities to support business goals and helps maintain Fugro's competitive advantage.Interacts with marine geophysical operations, project and tendering teams regionally. Helps to drive innovation though continues improvement and ensures these are delivered and embedded in the business.Co-ordination points between the operations, field seismic engineers, seismic processing and the client facing project managers.Ensures and drives knowledge transfer across the regions and assist in defining training requirements.Establishes and implements regional best practice to provide consistent service deliveryWorks closely with 3rd party vendors for the management and allocation of assets supporting seismic solutions.Supports and vets the recruitment of seismic staff.Carry out detailed preparation and system acceptance tests of equipment and implement planned maintenance to all equipment as required;Prepare mobilization lists for equipment and consumables for projects and execute mobilizations according to the mobilization process.Provide feedback on project and mobilization performance to the seismic delivery team, act upon lessons learned from wider project teams, and make suggestions for improvement;Draft and review required project specific document packs including procedures, technical guides and drawings.Sail on high profile projects to lead the geophysical teams in delivering efficient, quality seismic data acquisitionAttend vessel mobilizations, sea trials and sail on vessels as project requirements.Job Requirements
Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel.Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Geophysics.Approximately 30% offshore site work required.Have working knowledge of seismic principles and techniques.Have knowledge of Seismic sound sources.Have 8 years or more of Project management, business development, proposal management, client engagement role, in consulting or site characterization.Have 3 years or more experience in strong project business unit management background.What’s in it for you?
