Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated engineering manager to lead the Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) organization on the Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE) Enterprise OPIR Solution (EOS) contract. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership abilities, a strong technical background, and a passion for personnel development .
Please note, this position is contingent upon successful capture of the FORGE EOS contract.
Primary Responsibilities
+ Leadership & Management:
+ Oversee and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, fostering career growth and technical excellence
+ Develop staffing plans, manage resource allocation, and coordinate workload distribution across multiple activities
+ Champion a collaborative work environment, promoting knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement
+ Technical Oversight:
+ Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with technical roadmaps, performance objectives, and contractual requirements
+ Provide technical guidance on system design, architecture, integration, and sustainment activities
+ Review and approve engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and DoD, FORGE, and industry standards
+ Program Execution:
+ Collaborate with program management and senior leadership to define technical strategies and milestones
+ Coordinate risk management activities, developing and executing mitigation strategies to maintain program integrity
+ Monitor program performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed
+ Process & Compliance:
+ Maintain and enhance engineering processes aligned with contractual requirements, DoD standards (e.g., MIL-STD, DODAF), and industry best practices (e.g., CMMI)
+ Ensure compliance with security regulations, export controls (ITAR), and other relevant guidelines for classified and unclassified activities
+ Provide input for internal and external audits, ensuring thorough documentation and adherence to all contractual obligations
+ Stakeholder & Customer Engagement:
+ Serve as a key technical representative in meetings with government stakeholders, teammates, and product users
+ Present status, technical updates, and risk assessments
+ Support major technical reviews (e.g., SRR, IDRs, TRR), delivering detailed updates on SEIT activities
Minimum Qualifications
+ Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience, with at least 3 years leading and managing multidisciplinary teams
+ Proven understanding of DoD acquisition processes, regulations, and technical standards
+ Demonstrated understanding of satellite ground system architectures
+ Experience with Agile development processes and tools
+ Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
+ 5+ years of personnel management and mentoring experience
+ Experience in the Overhead Persistent Infra-Red (OPIR) mission area
+ Familiarity with MBSE processes and tools (e.g. Cameo/MagicDraw)
+ Certification in systems engineering or MBSE (e.g., INCOSE CSEP, OCSMP)
+ Familiarity with cybersecurity requirements for DoD systems (e.g., RMF, DISA STIGs)
+ Hands-on experience with satellite operations or ground system commissioning
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred
Clearance Requirement
Active DoD Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
