SELL IT - Sales Manager

Your new Role

Main responsibilities will be related to sales and business development activities to nurture relationships with key Utility and TSO customers and fully manage the direct sales process for their major tenders principally within the German market and with neighboring countries.

Projects typically will be at high voltage cable level and be turn-key in nature concerning either major underground cable systems, interconnectors between nations and/or export cable connections for grid access of offshore wind developing their national transmission grid.

Typical responsibilities:

Identify and develop business opportunities for HV land & submarine cable systems within the defined market(s) with the aim of achieving and/or exceeding defined sales targetsProactively lead and participate in tender preparations; participate in contract negotiations with clients  Implement defined sales strategies to achieve profitable business, develop solid relationships with market players and to identify new revenue streamsAttain detailed knowledge of the defined market(s), its characteristics and trends, the relevant clients, competitors and other market playersDevelop and manage regular reports related to tender phase, all relevant sales, market and competitor activity;Analyse, cooperate with the Contract requirements and conditions;Prepare relevant TPA/RAF as per Group requirement;Develop and retain close and long-term client relationships, providing on-going support to client to ensure they receive high quality customer service

 What you'll need to succeed

Experience as a Sales Manager within industry related projects across a range of sectors and customers or alternatively technical background with a clear commercial mindsetStrong business development attitude, with experience “in the field” to develop and care for existing and new customer accountsGood communications/marketing skills (front line interface with customers and third parties, comfortable to speak publicly e.g. presentations at seminars, exhibitions, conferences etc.)Language skills: Fluent German. Fluent EnglishProblem solving and target oriented mentalityInterest to quickly learn and take responsibilityAbility to interact with full organization hierarchy of clients & contractors. Comfortable with all levels up to and including senior management (to CEO level) Experience/attitude in dealing with complex and high value bids and involve internal and external stakeholders from different functions within the Group.Engineering background. Comfortable to discuss at least first level engineering issues with ClientsPragmatism. Capability to set and to handle pragmatically the prioritiesResponsible solving customer complaints, taking appropriate actions to ensure customer retentionTeam-oriented, able to share competences, network, ideas and information with the rest of the team.Willingness to travel frequently and extensively, predominantly within Europe
