Description:Lockheed Martin’s Santa Barbara Focalplane Infrared Sensors Business is seeking an experienced Semiconductor Process Engineer to join our team on-site in Goleta, CA.
What You Will Be Doing
The Semiconductor Process Engineer is responsible for sustaining/supporting III-V and Si semiconductor wafer and packaging process areas, which may include photolithography, in-line metrology, wet/dry etching, thin film deposition, substrate thinning, dicing, and flip-chip bonding.
Assignments include the definition of processing and handling equipment requirements and specifications, review of processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of semiconductor devices.
This individual will work with development and process integration engineers to adapt new processes and techniques into the manufacturing line as required. This may include defining requirements for new capabilities and organizing, leading, and executing semiconductor processing equipment capital procurement projects.
The semiconductor engineer will also be responsible for projects or portions of projects related to process definition, fabrication, modification and evaluation of semiconductor devices and components.
Data-driven analysis will be required to assess the efficacy of continuous improvement activities.
For this level 3, we typically look for a Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree, or equivalent experience/combined education.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Engineering, Physics, or related discipline
• Knowledge of semiconductor wafer processing areas such as photolithography, metrology, thin film deposition, wet/dry etching, substrate thinning, or dicing
• Must be a US Citizen, as this position is located at a facility that requires special access
Desired Skills:
• 5+ years of industry experience OR advanced degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics with 3+ years of industry experience
• Experience with automated semiconductor processing equipment for processes such as: automated optical inspection and metrology, photolithography, wet etching, dry etching, lift-off, thin film deposition, dicing, or flip-chip bonding
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Excellent engineering documentation skills and communication skills
• Ability to interface effectively from the technician level to senior management
• Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize assignments independently
• Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and data analysis software such as MATLAB or JMP

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $89,600 - $171,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
