Team and Position Summary
Platform Foundation team as a part of the Enterprise IoT Platform builds various components that acquire operational telemetry from devices across our fleet of stores, clubs, and distribution centres.
Our team is responsible for design, development, and operations of components operating at petabyte-scale. We focus on near real-time data acquisition and data transformation pipelines which feed into and enabling multiple end-user applications and machine learning infrastructure.
Position Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field. • 5+ years of experience in key technologies such as virtualization (VMWare/Xen), containers (docker/kubernetes), networking and linux system administration • Well versed with SRE/DevOps workflows and tools, including Helm, Puppet, Ansible and Terraform as well as monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana etc • Work experience with cloud technologies such as IaaS/PaaS components from public cloud offerings such as Azure (preferred) or GCP • Hands-on with Programming and Scripting Languages such as .NET and Python • Familiarity with Databases, Shell/Bash Scripting, • A continuous drive to explore, improve, enhance, automate, and optimize systems and tools. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Position Responsibilities • Oversee various platform components and services running across edge and cloud environments (Kubernetes/Docker) • Manage day-to-day engineering activities such as CI/CD process, SSL certificate management and address vulnerabilities on all production and non-production systems • Promptly addressing any issues or failures in data streaming and batch applications, ensuring adherence to SLAs. • Develop and extend automation tools, scripts and systems to monitor the health of platform components and data pipelines and raise alerts alert as appropriate. • Collaborate closely with engineering and business teams to assist with onboarding to our platform as well as support on-going activities • Participate in on-call rotation and act as the initial responder for any issues with the platform components • Lead and/or contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) and incident management efforts.
