Position Summary...Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

What you'll do...

Job Description

Technology Solution Automation: Requires knowledge of: Automation tools and technologies; Scripting Languages. To employ automation tools (Forexample Chef or puppet) to automate repetitive tasks and releases for a more efficient workflow.
Requirement And Scoping Analysis: Requires knowledge of: Traceability matrix; Risk analysis methodologies; Cost Analysis; Business objectives;Classification of requirements; User stories To explore relevant products/solutions from an existing repertoire, that can address business/technicalneeds. Assess gaps/ updates/ modifications between the customer/business expectations and the existing product/solutions (in case of agilemethodology, for the iteration). Classify the requirements into applicable types (For example - Functional/Non-Functional, Derived/Imposed/Emergentetc.). Anticipate the solution risks / issues during requirements gathering phase, inform relevant stakeholders and recommend corrective steps.Contribute to the creation of user stories for component/application/complex (For agile methodology).
Infrastructure Maintenance: Requires knowledge of: Infrastructure maintenance tools and methodologies; Infrastructure maintenance plans andschedule; Infrastructure performance metrics. To perform routine maintenance tasks for infrastructure systems such as backups, patch managementand hot fixes. Escalate any issue that occurs in the backup media. Audit desktops for compliance with IT policies. Conduct regular database integritychecks to ensure minimal data loss.
Coding: Requires knowledge of: Coding standards and guidelines; Coding languages (E.g. JavaScript, Python, C# etc.), frameworks(E.g. ActiveX,.Net, Cocoa, Android application framework etc.), tools(E.g. Monday.com, Linx, Embold etc.) and Platforms (E.g. Microsoft Azure, AWS , Apple IOSetc.); Quality, Safety and Security (PCI etc) standards; Emerging tools and technologies; Telemetry. To create/configure minimalistic code for entirecomponent/application and ensure the components are meeting business/technical requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintainability,high-availability and high-scalability needs. Assist in the selection of appropriate languages (E.g. JavaScript, Python, C# etc.), development standardsand tools (E.g. Monday.com, Linx, Embold etc.)for software coding/configuration. Take initiative to learn the fundamentals of different codinglanguages and frameworks that would be useful for future scope of work. Build scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD(Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery), Testing or any other process(as applicable). Implement telemetry features as required independently.Ensure security policy requirements are properly applied to components/application during code development/configuration.
Issue Resolution: Requires knowledge of: Issue resolution techniques ; Escalation scale parameters. To analyze and prioritize issues under moderatesupervision for projects of moderate complexity. Independently identify and elaborate possible and feasible solutions to the issues raised. Evaluate allavailable options to resolve the raised issues for projects of moderate complexity.
Capacity Management: Requires knowledge of: Capacity management Current and future business requirements Walmart service levels Computingresources; Infrastructure performance; Infrastructure growth plans. To right-sizing IT resources to meet current and future business requirements in acost-effective within a domain/ pillar. Optimize IT resource utilization. Create a model of infrastructure performance to manage current resourceneeds. Manage demand for computing resources. Produce a capacity plan that covers current and forecasted needs.
Infrastructure Design : Requires knowledge of: Software architecture; Distributed systems; Scalability; Design patterns; Disaster Recovery; TechStacks; Non-Functional Requirements; Security standards, frameworks, and methodologies (System Security Plan -SSP, Security Risk andCompliance Review- SRCR etc.) To assist in creation of simple, modular, extensible and functional design for the product/solution in adherence to therequirements. Evaluate trade-offs while designing across multiple components in a system based on the business requirements. Convert HLD tocreate detailed design for specific modules / components of a product/system. Understand nuances of designing for disaster recovery.
Cloud Migration: Requires knowledge of: Data Center Operations (Production operations, Server, Storage, Systems and Infra, Data BaseManagement, Systems Management, Helpdesk, DR/Business recovery practices; Platform as a service (PaaS )services for public cloudservices(Cosmos, EventHub, Cloudspanner) (Applicable only to the Cloud Enablement Team). To support decommission of the on-prem hardware orconvert it into a hybrid set-up or complete cloud setup as per business needs. Monitor the resiliency and reliability of the new cloud environment.Gauge the bandwidth needed to handle the internet connections for cloud access. Support in planning and executing data-center consolidations,relocations, and migrations.
Configuration Management: Requires knowledge of: Configuration management tools and processes; Configuration and release management inenvironment(s). To update data from all sources as and when configuration changes are deployed. Conduct analysis for simple configurationchanges.
Version Control: Requires knowledge of: Version management tool; Product deployment tools and processes; Release verification mechanism. Toensure that any modification to code is checked into correct branch and code merges are done properly. Authenticate and authorize of code changesin the version control system / central repository. Oversee the process of code branching and ensure seamless code build. Ensure that all impactedfiles are included in release communication.
Integration Management: Requires knowledge of: Types of middleware; Different types of platforms; Functions of Application Programming Interfaces(APIs); Programming languages used for middleware; Principles and protocols for API-level integration; New and emerging middleware products,tools and methodologies in the industry. To evaluate opportunities for creating connections among various hardware and applications. Evaluatesuitable middleware to be used for integrating existing legacy applications with current applications as required including cloud systems. Programmiddleware or other tools to enable effective integration of applications within. Perform API-level integration. Oversee the end-to-end process ofapplication integration to the target environment. Investigate issues or failures of application integration. Facilitate modifications to improve thesuccess of integration between application programs.

What you'll do:

·      Develop interactive, user-friendly applications using the latest frameworks.

·      Independently own, address/resolve applications issues, report and perform root cause analysis.

·      Plan, execute and implement applications and configuration change procedures

·      Supervise all alerts related to application and system procedures and provide services proactively.

·      Maintain good professional relationships with engineering, Platform support and end users etc.

·      Gain and maintain expertise in flow of application process and systems related to domain

·      Flexibility - responsibilities may require occasional evening and weekend work

·      Coordinate across teams and resolve all complex application and system issues ranging in complexity (Low to Critical)

·      Install and prepare tools required for proper functioning of applications on regular basis and to prevent re-occurrence of problems

·      Coordinate with departments and QA departments and administer code migrations in various environments and production outputs.

·      Manage all production system and recommend ways to optimize performance and provide solution to problems and prepare reports for all problems.

·      Follow standards and best practices to bring operational efficiencies, stability and availability of the system.

·      Comprehend various metrics on operational dashboards and reports and take corrective actions

·     Ensure that proper telemetry, logging and metrics are implemented to measure service health and conform to error budgeting. Engender reliability and availability

·     Engage with other Site Reliability Engineers and Operations Engineers to discuss and define best practices

·     Practice sustainable incident response as well as participate in peer reviews and blameless post-mortems

- Monitor, build, test and deploy cutting edge solutions at scale, impacting millions of customers worldwide.

-Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community. Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set your priorities and deliver awesome products.

What you'll bring:

·     Prior experience in a DevOps role

·     Experience in one or more of the following: Java, Python

·     Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud platform (certification preferred)

·     Experience with maintaining a high availability cloud infrastructure

·     Strong oral and written communication skills

·     Experience with root cause analysis of critical business and production issues

·     Understanding of Agile development methodologies, DevOps practices, and product development lifecycle

·     Strong understanding of concepts related to computer architecture, data structures and programming practices

·     Experience with modern cloud development practices (microservices architectures, REST interfaces, etc.)

·     Knowledge of Containersand infrastructure automation
