The Senior, Tax Analyst is responsible for managing domestic tax compliance, including the preparation and review of tax returns, identifying book-tax differences, and handling consolidated income tax returns. This role involves maintaining a tax compliance calendar, conducting tax research, responding to tax notices, and assisting with tax audits. Additionally, the Senior, Tax Analyst will manage income tax provisions, communicate global tax requirements, monitor legislative developments, and identify process improvements. Collaboration with various teams and participation in tax planning projects are also key aspects of this position.
Responsibilities
Drive domestic (federal and state) tax compliance, including: Review/preparation of workpapers and returns for domestic tax obligations; Proactively identify book-tax differences; Review domestic consolidated income tax returns, estimates, extensions, and forecasts; Prepare/Maintain/Update a tax compliance calendar; Assist in planning the preparation and review of tax deliverables to meet internal and external deadlines Prepare/review tax research and prepare/review tax memoranda to document tax analyses, positions and conclusions Prepare/review detailed analyses of book to tax differences and confirm the technical merits of the positions Respond to tax notices and manage or assist with domestic tax audits Assist with annual and quarterly income tax provision Review/preparation of workpapers for the annual domestic income tax provision; Review/preparation of quarterly pretax forecasts; Review of certain foreign annual income tax provisions; Manage the monthly tax accounting roll forward process Communicate global requirements and due dates; Review information provided and follow-up with appropriate personnel as needed; Compile information provided and integrate into the Company’s quarterly and year-end tax journal entry templates. Monitor, analyze and communicate relevant domestic legislative/regulatory developments to the tax department Proactively identify process-improvement opportunities Participate in various tax planning projects, proactively partner with treasury, legal and accounting teams, and participate in cross-functional teams related to a variety of projects, including implementation of new technologies and processes Assist with other duties/special projects as needed Work effectively with outside service providers
Minimum Education/ Experience
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years relevant work experience OR Master's + 3+ relevant work experience; 4+ years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.
Specific Skills or Experience Required
Bachelor Degree required CPA License strongly preferred 5+ years of experience, of which 3+ years of relevant experience in a corporate tax department or public accounting firm Experience with corporate tax compliance for US multinational corporations Proficient with Microsoft Applications, especially Excel Experience with automated tax systems such as Onesource Tax Provision and Onesource Income Tax Experience with tax research platforms such as Checkpoint and BNA Strong Organizational Skills with ability to meet Internal and External deadlines Detail-oriented and able to work independently Understanding of GAAP accounting for US Corporations Excellent oral and written communication skills
