A Senior Absence Management Analyst is responsible for overseeing and managing employee absences within an organization. They analyze and track employee leave data, including sick leave, vacation, and other types of time off. They collaborate with HR and payroll departments to ensure accurate recording and reporting of absences. Additionally, they develop and implement absence management policies and procedures, including compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Senior Absence Management Analyst also provides guidance and support to employees and managers regarding leave policies, procedures, and benefits. They may also be responsible for analyzing absence trends, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to reduce absenteeism and enhance employee wellness and engagement.

What You'll Do

• Consult and advise employees on eligibility, provisions and other matters related to Leave of Absence (LOA) including but not limited to federal, state or company policies.
• Manage the third-party Leave of Absence Administrator on claims and escalated issues.
• Process Leave of Absence claims approvals for payroll purposes to Corporate Payroll for processing in a timely manner to ensure accurate pay, including evaluation of applicable benefits, leave balances, and possible holidays due according to leave policy.
• Designs and implements benefit programs meant to attract and retain employees.
• Manage and evaluate leave of absence balances as it pertains to federal, state and AssuredPartners leave policies.
• Conduct proper calculations of leave of absence as it pertains to approvals and work closely with Corporate Payroll.
• Provide support to Regional Human Resources leaders on leave of absences to ensure proper documentation and processing is handled on a consistent basis as well as benefit and leave policies are followed.
• Provide technical support to the field and home office on leave and benefit policies as well as time and leave functions in our HRIS and time management system as these apply to leave of absence, leave without pay, separations and benefits (FMLA, Disability, Workers' Comp and Paid Parental Leave).
• Update HRIS systems to reflect proper leave of absence periods and conduct audits.
• Provide guidance to employees on transition from short-term disability to long-term disability.
• Manage the ADA process and perform eligibility determinations and guidance.
• Provide support to manager on various projects with benefits on a needed basis.

• Requires a post-secondary education degree or a minimum of two years of experience, or a combination of both. Typically, a bachelor’s degree and 4 to 6 years of experience are required, including at least 4 years of dedicated experience with ASO or self-funded leave programs involving multiple classes
• Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
• Knowledge of preparing calculations for payments including state disability offsets.
• Knowledge of Human Resource systems; Internet software; spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple leaves, provide timely feedback and demonstrate high level analytical skills while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
• Strong knowledge of Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, and spreadsheet management.
• Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
